i liked it.

i liked it a lot.

i liked it a lot more than the first one.

i think andrew garfield is a much better spiderman than tobey maguire. and emma stone as gwen stacy is a lot more enjoyable than kristen dunst as mary jane watson.

i liked that it was still a little corny, but not the cornfest than the previous versions were.

i liked that it was visually stunning. i liked the pacing and the dialogue.

i liked sally field a whole lot more than the nice old lady from the first.

i think that marc webb did a great job as a director, especially since his only previous feature film was the very different “500 days of summer”.

i know a lot of it feels repetitive, and maybe they should’ve waited a bit more before doing a reboot, but for whoever hasn’t watched the first three films (and i would only vaguely recommend the first one), this should be pretty enjoyable.

also, my apologies to the great jk simmons, but i didn’t miss the chief editor of the newspaper at all.
